Darwin Streaming Server Port Usage

As Darwin SS uses the RTSP protocol to stream (unless youre streaming via port 80) you must have the following ports open on your firewall 554, 7070, 8000, 8001 then anything starting from 6970 & up depending on how many clients you want to support.
Apple have a basic support article on this here

  1. Do you think this server can be used to make a RTSP proxy function on OpenBSD box ? In fact, I search a good solution to make a RTSP proxy on my OBSD box…

  2. I havent tried out the proxy features yet, but I’ll have a go over the weekend & post my findings over the weekend 🙂

  3. I was able to use my OpenBSD as a default relay for a Windows Darwin Streaming Server.
The create playlist on target server feature didnt work for me, but thats probably me?! 🙂
